Time to Celebrate with AMAZING GIVEAWAYS!

It's a wonderful time of the year and for me, this week is extra special.  It's my one year 'blogiversary'!  This time last year, I faced my ultimate fear of being judged and putting myself out there...I started this blog.  If you know me personally, you know that writing has never been my strength and that I am a very shy person who doesn't like to be in the spotlight.  So, starting a blog was my ultimate 'face your fears' endeavor.  However, I have found that it has been nothing short of an amazing experience and I am so happy that I did it!  I have met (online & in person) some amazing SLPs and bloggers, made amazing new friends, learned a lot from other bloggers, become a better SLP, reaffirmed why I love this profession and so much more!

One of my newest products is the  

Christmas Language & Articulation No Print Games. 

No Print games are perfect for any SLP on the run, without time or with students who like using iPads! Simply download to your iPad and you are ready to go!

This specific product addresses six goals: Articulation, Prepositions, Pronouns, Categories, WH Questions and Following Directions.  Students love working on their goals with these activities! 

Another one of my favorite materials for speech therapy is the

 Articulation Homework Flipbooks.  

These make homework easy and fun for students and the best part...SEND HOMEWORK HOME ONCE!  

Each flipbook addresses one sound in the initial and final positions and from the sound level up to the conversation level. Students check off a box for each day they practice. Once all 15 boxes are checked off, they rip off the page, bring in their completed paper and then move on to the next stage!

What student doesn't love puzzles?! This 3 Step Sequence Card pack addresses two different levels of sequencing...puzzles for students who need a little more help and squares to make the task a little harder.  Students will love these!

This is another fun and interactive winter game for prepositions!  In the Penguin Prepositions pack, students get to place 'Penny the Penguin' in different areas and then answer questions about where she is.  Not only will they have fun, but it also includes a data tracking sheet!

Santa's List for Speech & Language

Shopping for gifts for your kids can be fun, but also exhausting!  There are so many toys, games and books to choose from! How do you know which ones to get?  

I tend to shop for gifts that my kids love, but also something that they can learn from.  This doesn't mean getting them flash cards...it means being 'sneaky' and getting them something that they have fun with while learning!  Here are some of my favorite gifts that my 4 year old loves!

ALEX Toys Craft Giant Art Jar 

What Is It: 
This is a giant jar of craft supplies!  If your child loves crafts, this is the perfect gift! It includes felt shapes, craft sticks, google eyes, buttons, spools, colored and textured papers, glue and much more!

Why She Likes It: 
 When my daughter received it for her birthday, she was ecstatic!  In the past month (since her birthday), she has made countless arts & crafts, used her imagination and of course learned a few things along the way. 

What It Can Address:
Describing, Colors, Shapes, Sequencing, Following Directions & More! Here are some things that I do with her during 'craft' time.

1) I have her describe what she is making or what she made.  We talk about the colors, the sizes, the functions of the craft and what she likes about it. 

2) I also have her follow directions to make something new or have her give me directions on how to make something.

Pop the Pig 

What Is It: 
 Kids spin the spinner, pop a hamburger into the pig's mouth, then pump his head. The more they pump, the more his belly grows until . . . pop!

Why She Likes/Wants It: 
This is a gift that is on her 'wishlist'.  She gets so excited when she sees this game on a commercial.  I can't wait to give it to her and actually play it!

What It Can Address:
Articulation, Following Directions, Turn Taking, Conversations & More
Here's how I plan on playing the game with her.

1) I will have her work on following directions and turn taking...she's in preschool, so that is something that we are still working on :) 

2) If your child is working on articulation, have them say their sound 5X before each turn. 

Press Here Book

What It Is: 

Each page contains instructions on what to do.  The reader can press the dots, tilt the book, shake the pages and more!  As you turn the page, something new and exciting happens!  

Why She Likes It:

My daughter thinks it's so cool that she can 'make' the pages change if she correctly follows the directions.  We have read this book so many times, but we still laugh and have a blast with it!

What It Can Address: 

 Following Directions, Reading, Vocabulary, Colors

Here's what I do with my daughter while reading this book.

1) I don't have to think...The directions are all there!  All I do is read the book and she automatically learns!
